Bio
João holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Biomedicine and Bioinformatics from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. He is a PhD student in Bioinformatics at BioME/IMD/UFRN.
His experience includes shotgun and 16S metagenomics; single-cell and bulk RNA sequencing; microarray analysis; differential gene expression; protein interaction networks; and biodiversity and functional analysis. He develops reproducible bioinformatics workflows using Nextflow and Snakemake and is interested in systems biology, metagenomics, network analysis, computational reproducibility, and open knowledge.
